Pupils visit No 10 Downing Street

Mr Porter and Mrs Bashaarat took 8 pupils on a trip to London last Thursday, to visit the Palace of Westminster and No 10 Downing Street.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their tour of the Commons and Lords (and the crypt underneath Westminster Hall), and it was remarkable how many links there were between Milton Abbey pupils past and present and the Lords and MPs!  The tour was led by Alexia Roe, Simon Hoares' Senior Parliamentary Assistant.

The visit to No 10 was the real highlight, however.  From having to knock on the door to get in, to watching the Gold Cup in the Political Office with two of David Cameron's Advisors, the couple of hours spent there was a special experience.  The Cabinet Room, The White Room, Churchill's reading chair and the portrait staircase - all amazing memories.  Our host for the afternoon was David Cameron's Deputy Chief of Staff, Kate Fall, and we thank her very much for allowing us to visit.
