Latest News Inform > Latest News > Summer Term events programme Summer Term events programme We are delighted to release our programme of events for the Summer Term, including drama and music performances, a Headmaster's Lecture, our annual Friends of Milton Abbey School Summer Fete together with the return of the Milton Abbey International Music Festival. The term's events begins with Pip Utton's amazing play, 'Adolf', on Tuesday 26 April, a powerful and daring performance which will take the audience on a journey towards understanding the mindset of a nation that allowed such a man to take control. On Wednesday 11 May we will officially launch our Professional Recital Series by welcoming acclaimed soprano singer Camilla Foster Mitchell, who will be giving a performance to an audience in the King's Room. On Friday 13 May our Headmaster's Lecture for the term will take place, delivered by Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and International Fellow of the Explorers' Club of America, John Hare. Johh's fascinating talk will focus on a series of surveys he took over a period of 12 years which led to him finding two previously undiscovered and unmapped valleys near the northern Tibet escarpment. Saturday 11 June will see the return of our popular annual Friends of Milton Abbey School Summer Fete. From local arts and crafts to train rides, games and a bouncy castle, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Dorset Artsreach's Capability Brown-themed performance of 'The Eyecatcher' will follow on Thursday 16 June, celebrating the life and times of 'England's greatest gardener' in this the 300th anniversary of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's birth. Finally the Milton Abbey International Music Festival and Summer School will take place between Monday 25th and Sunday 31st July, with a spectacular programme of concerts from world-renowned artists including VOCES8 spanning the entire week.
