Day Pupils

For those who attend the School as day pupils, Milton Abbey offers the same comprehensive academic and extra-curricular opportunities.

We call this ‘a boarding experience without the boarding’.

The School day for our day pupils runs from 0800 until 1800 Monday to Friday, and includes Saturday morning lessons and sports fixtures in the afternoon.  Day pupils are assigned desk space within one of the boarding houses where they will have a base for the day and space to work, and take part in sports and extra-curricular activities along with our boarding pupils.  Day pupils are even welcome to stay for supper if they wish, and are integrated as fully into School life as possible.

We run a comprehensive daily minibus service which currently covers Blandford, Poole, Dorchester, Shaftesbury and Salisbury, further details are available in the downloadable transport information within the iPoint box.

Sixth Form day pupils have the opportunity to travel to School in their own vehicles and park them on site (in collaboration with the School's Pupil Car Use Policy - see Policies page) but parents must seek prior permission by completing and the returning the form available in the iPoint box on this page.  Similarly Sixth Form pupils may use their own cars for special occasions and by prior arrangement, parents must also complete and return the relevant form (see iPoint box).
