Countryside Management Coasteering

The Middle Sixth Form Countryside Management class recently went coasteering with Experience Lulworth.

This was as part of the BTEC module on 'understanding countryside tourism and recreation’ which aims to equip pupils with the capability to manage recreation and tourist sites and in particular how to manage honey pot areas.

The coasteering session allowed the pupils to see first-hand the effects of erosion at Lulworth and hear directly from the rangers about how management of the estate is not only minimising future erosion but how they have managed to blend conservation with adrenaline!

All the pupils coped admirably with the chilly Spring sea temperatures, it is not for the feint hearted!
