News & Info > Girls' trip to Skern Lodge Girls' trip to Skern Lodge The beginning of term saw Hughies House travel to Skern Lodge in Devon for a fun house-based weekend away. The weekend began with a fun road trip down to Devon, arriving in time for dinner, and the group spent Friday evening playing ping-pong and getting to know one another as many new girls have joined Hughies House this year. Saturday and Sunday saw the girls divided into groups as they took part in an array of different actitvities including river kayaking, high ropes, zip lines and an obstacle course. Even though the activities proved scary at times, the girls worked together excellently as a team and supported each other brilliantly. The most popular activity of them all was surfing and body boarding - some girls were able to stand up whilst others enjoyed playing in the surf and warm water! The group spent their free time playing games and visiting the Skern Lodge 'Tuck Shop' - a fantastic fun weekend to mark the beginning of term.
