Remembrance Sunday Service

The whole School community gathered on Sunday for an incredibly moving Remembrance Service in the Abbey.

Special mention should go to Rufus for his outstanding solo performance of 'Do not stand at my grave and weep' and to the Bourne2Sing choir, led by Milton Abbey's Head of Music Nikki Budd, who sang 'Abide with me' with the School's Abbey Choir.

John Young (pictured), Governor of Milton Abbey School and High Sheriff of Dorset, delivered a powerful and poignant sermon on his experiences in the Army and how during the two minute silence he remembers the soldiers he served with who lost their lives.  He also spoke about the impact of war on local families and the community, and encouraged pupils to spend the upcoming two minute silence thinking about their own families and communities and remembering those who had died.

We extend our thanks to all those who attended including parents, members of the Milton Abbey Association, and guests, and also to the Milton Abbey cadets who led the procession to courtyard where our poppies were laid after the service.
