Speech Day 2016

Speech Day was once again a wonderful occasion this year - a day filled with events in celebration of the achievements of Milton Abbey pupils.

The day began with the traditional Speech Day Service in the Abbey, led by the School Chaplain, followed by the prize-giving ceremony in the marquee with speeches from Patrick McGrath (Governor and former Milton Abbey pupil), Headmaster Magnus Bashaarat, and this year's guest speaker, Lieutenant General Sir Barney White-Spunner.  The School's Head Boy, Ben Warburton and Head Girl, Charlotte Saville, also gave speeches.

The popular yeargroup picnics on the Abbey Lawn followed, with a selection of exhibitions open for parents to enjoy showcasing some of the superb art, photography, ceramic and DT work produced by Milton Abbey pupils over the course of the year.  A game of U14 v Parents' XI cricket was also enjoyed during the afternoon, along with a special music recital by some of the School's talented choristers in the Abbey.

The Middle Sixth Form Leavers' Celebrations then began at 7pm, with a Leavers' Service in the Abbey followed by a champagne reception before the Leavers' Ball.

Thank you to all parents who attended and help make this occasion so special, and we send our very best wishes to our 2016 leavers.
