Film & TV Production & Creative Media Teacher

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of BTEC Film & TV production and BTEC Creative Media for the start of the Michaelmas Term 2021.
The Creative Media Department enjoys a high profile, with a strong record of success, and was central to Milton Abbey being awarded BTEC School of the Year by Pearson in 2019. It offers students a choice of disciplines: Level 2 BTEC Creative Media and Level 3 BTEC Film & Television.  Join us, and you could soon be playing a vital role in the classroom and the pastoral welfare of our pupils.
Alongside teaching a standard timetable allocation, you may play an active role in the extra-curricular life of our full boarding school too. That means opportunities to contribute to off-timetable workshops, enrichment extension programmes, share good practice and play your part in aspects of community life like coaching games, directing plays or taking pupils on trips; these are all elements of a role that will enable you to play your part in our transformational education programme.
To succeed, you will need a good level Degree in a Creative Media, TV & Film production or related subject and a thorough knowledge of the curriculum. Experience teaching Level 2 and Level 3 BTECs (GCSE and A-Level equivalent respectively) is desirable, while previous involvement in extra-curricular activities (professional, amateur or voluntary) is essential. We will also consider suitably experienced applicants from an industry background.
Over half of our students have identified learning challenges and our teachers need to be creative, empathetic and dynamic practitioners. You must be confident using Adobe software and conversant with all elements of digital media, film and TV production and animation, and you will need to be highly IT literate.  In addition, you will need to be as comfortable working within a traditional classroom as you are with our purpose-built digital studio.
