Resident Boarding House Assistants - particularly seeking candidates with backgrounds in Girls' Sport Coaching, Modern Foreign Languages or PHSE

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to be members of our extraordinary community of teachers and boarding staff. Milton Abbey is a transformational learning environment with a determination to provide optimal academic and social outcomes for all our students, whatever their starting point. 
 
Accommodation is offered with this position, as is a full time, pensionable salary, all meals during term time and 12 weeks holiday per annum.

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to teach of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish preferred) at Milton Abbey with an ability to deliver lessons up to A Level.

The MFL Department teaches the Edexcel GCSE specification followed by the AQA A Level for Sixth Form students for both Spanish and French.

Modern Foreign Languages enjoys small classes across the year groups which allows us to tailor our lessons to individual learner’s needs. We require our teachers to be creative, empathetic and dynamic practitioners who inspire within the classroom and beyond.

Chaplain

With a starting date of September 2022, we are seeking to appoint a Chaplain for Milton Abbey School. This is a full-time, senior position for an experienced pastoral worker with a heart for ministry to our teenagers in particular but also to staff, parents, Governors, Old Miltonians and to our wider community.

A faithful servant of, and witness to, Jesus Christ in this place, our Chaplain will lead our spiritual life with integrity, sensitivity and joy. The successful applicant will be an inspirational preacher, be (or have the capacity to become) an excellent classroom practitioner, work well within a team and value each pupil as an individual. Excellent communication skills and an approachable manner are essential.

Deputy Housemaster / Housemistress

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Deputy Housemaster / Housemistress (DHM) to assist / deputise in the running of a Boarding House for pupils (age range 13-18 years), supporting the Housemaster / Housemistress in all aspects of pupil progress and development, and ensuring that each pupil makes the very most of their Milton Abbey experience.

Science and DT Support Technician

Milton Abbey School seeks to appoint a well-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic technician who will take a lead role in technical support for the Science Department alongside supporting elements of the DT Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a keen desire to learn and can use their own initiative and common sense.


Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable)

Milton Abbey is seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant within the school’s small, friendly, but busy finance department.

As part of the role you will be overseeing the school’s accounts payable function but also providing general accounts support in a variety of areas.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive person, with excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in their work.

Director of Land Based Studies

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to be Director of Land Based Studies at Milton Abbey with an ability to deliver lessons to all students.

Land Based Studies is an exciting department at Milton Abbey and plays an important role in school life and the school farm. The Land Based Studies lessons enjoy small classes across the year groups which allows us to tailor our lessons to individual learner’s needs. We are delighted to teach Land Based Studies qualifications in a variety of areas including Agriculture IGCSE, Animal Care BTEC Level1/2 Award as well as Equine Care and Countryside Management at Sixth Form through BTEC Level 3 Qualifications.

Teacher of Psychology

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to lead the teaching of Psychology at Milton Abbey with an ability to deliver lessons to A Level students. 
The Psychology Department sits within the Humanities Faculty and teaches the AQA A Level for Sixth Form students. The Humanities Faculty enjoys small classes across the year groups which allows us to tailor our lessons to individual learner’s needs. We require our teachers to be creative, empathetic and dynamic practitioners who inspire within the classroom and beyond.  

Teacher of Science

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to contribute to the teaching of Science at Milton Abbey with an ability to deliver lessons up to A Level. We are open to teachers with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics however an ability to teach across all subjects up to GCSE is essential.

Teacher of English as an Additional Language (EAL)

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to deliver English as an Additional Language (EAL) at Milton Abbey with an ability to deliver lessons from Third Form to Sixth Form.

English as an Additional Language requires lessons tailored to meet our individual learner’s needs. We require our teachers to be creative, empathetic and dynamic practitioners who inspire within the classroom and beyond.

Boarding House Day Matron

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Day Matron to assist in the running of a Boarding House for pupils (age range 13-18 years), supporting the Housemaster / Housemistress in all pastoral aspects of pupil development and wellbeing, and ensuring that each pupil makes the very most of their Milton Abbey experience
