Graduate Teachers

We’re looking for problem-solvers, contributors, enthusiasts, and creative thinkers, who have a heart to support our students, enabling them to learn optimally and to achieve a series of ‘personal bests’ in their learning and personal development.

You’ll need to be optimistic, energetic, resilient and flexible. Your skills and interests - whether it's coaching lacrosse, playing the organ, sailing, playing polo or taking night exercises with the CCF - will enrich and enliven our programme.

Once a probation of one term has been served and passed, you will be placed and funded on a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) course and our current provider is the University of Buckingham.

Under the direction of a Head of Department, you will:

• Contribute to the subject teaching programme
• Provide cover for teachers during their absence as required by the Deputy Head Academic
• Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme
• Carry out a share of supervisory duties in accordance with published schedules
• Participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents relative to the above responsibilities
• Participate in appraisal arrangements

Milton Abbey School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  The appointment will be the subject of an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.  Additionally, please be aware that Milton Abbey School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. To avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

Please note that our school is a no smoking site.
